SDV
special series for print finishing
Due to modern processing technologies the risk of claims in the finishing is increasing steadily.
In general for:
- Foil lamination
- UV-Varnishing*
- Calendaring
- Spirit varnishing
the printing ink must meet the following requirements:
- Solvent- and alkaline fastness according to DIN 16524
- free of any abrasion paste, wax and silicon
- duct- and roller fresh inks are not suitable, as due to slower drying an adhesion or release of the ink could appear.
For dispersion varnishing a solvent and alkaline resistance according to DIN 16524 is sufficient.
A series meeting all these demands is our SDV-series.
Fastness properties:
| item no. | light | transp. | spirit | nitro | alcali | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SDV-Euro-Yellow | 69046 | 5 | + | + | + | + |
| SDV-Euro-Magenta | 69047 | 5 | + | + | - | + |
| SDV-Euro-Cyan | 69048 | 8 | + | + | + | + |
| SDV-Black | 69048 | 8 | + | + | + | + |
This series is only appropriated for printed matters with following finishing as due to production without sliding agent the rub resistance is poor.
* For UV varnishing we recommend applying a primer. The primer should be adjusted to the UV varnish.
