CareFood MAW Series
Migration reduced, absorbing
CareFood MAW is an ink series which was developed especially for the production of food packaging with sheet fed offset printing.
This series meets product wise all three requirements on food packaging: Scent reduced, swelling reduced and migration reduced.
CareFood MAW inks are migration reduced in terms of non-evaluated substances. Substances evaluated for food contact can in general absorbe within the legally accepted limits. This means that in contrast to traditional low migration systems they show absorption and therefore a physical drying. Typographical they are therefore clearly superior to the classical low migration systems. And yet they fulfil all legal requirements in terms of food safety. This enables the usage of CareFood MAW ink also for the production of primary food packaging.
The requirement of scent reduction calls for binding agents which do not comply with the common demands for rub resistance. Therefore dispersion varnishing is strictly necessary for all printing jobs with CareFood MAW.
The principal application is mainly the printing of primary packaging for flavour sensitive filling.

Due to these properties all requirements towards total migration (< 60 ppm) as well as the specific migration (< 10 ppb) for non-evaluated substances can be fulfilled product wise. A barrier coating in order to comply with the legal demands of the regulation 1935/2004 EG is not necessary product wise.

High concentrated mono pigmented mixing system
There is a high concentrated mono pigmented mixing system with 15 basic inks (→ mixing chart) for the big variety of special inks which are required in packaging industry.
CareFood MAW Effect varnish 1848
With our effect varnish 1848 on CareFood MAW basis matt-gloss-effects can be achieved in connection with inline dispersion varnish. The areas printed with CareFood MAW effect varnish appear matt after dispersion varnishing. The varnish, like the CareFood MAW inks themselves, meet all legal requirements concerning food packaging.
