Quality management

In order to be able to guarantee optimal security regarding the ink, we daily conduct quality test (controls of incoming and outgoing goods) and have our inks regularly tested by well-known external institutes.

Internal measurements:

Quality measurements for inks suited for the food packaging market:

Swelling:

• Gas chromatographic outgoing goods inspection of every batch
• Determination of concentration of strong, middle and heavy volatile substances
• by integration over three areas of the chromatogram with corresponding
• release limits.

Odour:

• Determination of aldehydes by headspace gas chromatography

Migration:

• Migration test
• Determination of migration behaviour of an ink
• Tenax method

External measurements:

Regular tests by independent institutes (Fraunhofer, Fresenius, SQTS …) evaluate packaging regarding their conformity with regulation (EC) 1935/2004 and guideline 2002/72/EC.

Corresponding certificates regarding the used products exist for:

• BoFood MH
• Cold Foil Glue for food packaging

It is, however, to be observed that next to the ink also varnish, spray powder, fountain solution and other cross contaminations have to be considered.
